2024 Team USA Junior Staff Honored by ISBHF

PRAGUE, CZECHIA – Please join us in congratulating Jen Wilson and Mike Battista on receiving top honors for their dedication, leadership, and success on the international stage. USA Ball Hockey is proud to recognize these two outstanding individuals for their contributions to the sport this year.

🏆 Female Coach of the Year: Jennifer Wilson

Wilson’s leadership and vision as head coach of the USA Women’s National Team earned her the title of Female Coach of the Year. After a disappointing campaign at the 2022 Women’s World Championship, Jen and her coaching staff faced the challenge of rebuilding and preparing the team for the 2024 championship in Switzerland.

Their efforts paid off in spectacular fashion. Following a strong group stage performance, the team defeated Canada in an unforgettable overtime semi-final and advanced to the gold medal game for the first time in four years. The final was nothing short of historic, as the USA Women’s Team claimed their first-ever World Championship title with a dominant 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic.

Coach Wilson’s ability to inspire and lead her team to this historic achievement highlights her as a true contributer to the sport.

🏆 Male Manager of the Year: Mike Battista

Mike Battista’s exceptional leadership as the manager of the USA U18 team earned him the title of Male Manager of the Year. Under his guidance, the team secured a silver medal at the World Juniors in Žilina. From organizing tryouts to overseeing the team’s preparation and performance during the tournament, Mike’s commitment to excellence was evident at every step. His attention to detail and ability to create optimal conditions for the players played a pivotal role in their success.

Looking ahead, Mike’s experience and proven track record have led to his appointment as Manager for the USA U20 Men’s Team at the 2025 World Juniors in Poprad, Slovakia.
