U16 National Team News

Congratulations to Shannon Taylor (16 Girls) and Ryan Shannon (U16 Boys) named General Managers for this summer’s ISBHF World Junior Championships.

Ryan Shannon is returning for his 4th term as GM for the U16 Boys, while Shannon Taylor has been promoted from Team Mass Future Stars coach to National Team GM.

Boys tryouts are open for all who want the shot at cracking the 2026 roster. Evaluations will take place in New Cumberland, PA at Yellow Breeches Sports Center on January 17th. Shannon will work along side of his coaching staff lead by first time national team head coach, Jeremy Bass, who has big shoes to fill replacing Willie Rennebeck. Rennebeck lead the U16 Boys to a Silver Medal last summer. Joining Bass on the bench will be assistant coaches Jon Strom and Ralph Chiaravolloti. Jon and Ralph coached in Utica at the Boys U15 Future Stars Invitational last July.

Girls tryouts are also open to the public and will occur on February 1st in Pittsburgh, PA. The staff will include a load of international experience as the bench is filled with U.S. national team players and coaches. Lisa Kilroy will head coach the group. Lisa Bac, Kelly Wagner and Taylor Steadman will assist. This is the first time the U.S. will be competing at the U16 Girls level on an international stage. The ISBHF recently added the U16 Division to the tournament schedule as a way to continue global growth of ball hockey development.

U16 Boys World Championships will be held in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia from July 1-5, 2026.

U16 Girls World Championships will be held in Sheffield, England from July 2-5, 2026.
