The women’s team secured another dominant win, defeating Great Britain 5-0. In the second period, the U.S. team overwhelmed their opponents. Goals from Emma Seitz, Maddy Evangelous, Megan Fortier, and Katherine Murphy extended the lead to 5-0.
The third would not be as dominant, but Emma Seitz would get enough space to complete her hat trick with a goal assisted by Hannah Lindey, marking her fifth goal in two games. The team’s relentless offense and Seitz’s exceptional performance were key to their victory.

In their second game of the tournament, the women’s team would establish themselves as one of the strongest teams in the tournament with a 6-0 win over Switzerland.

In their opening game of the 2024 World Championships, the U.S. women’s team secured a 4-2 victory over Slovakia, highlighted by stellar performances from Becky Dobson, Hannah Lindey, and Taylor Steadman.

The game began with a power play opportunity for the U.S., and Becky made no mistake, swarming the net to score early on their second attempt. Slovakia responded with a power play goal of their own to tie the game.

However, the U.S. quickly regained the lead. Hannah Lindey capitalized on a loose ball, finding the net almost immediately after the Slovakian equalizer. This goal set the stage for a dominant U.S. performance.

Early in the second period, Taylor Steadman delivered a highlight-reel goal, going top shelf to extend the lead to 3-1. The U.S. penalty kill unit then put on a clinic, effectively neutralizing Slovakia’s power play chances.

Steadman struck again, this time with an unassisted short-handed goal, showcasing her skill and determination. The U.S. women maintained possession and control throughout the second and third periods, stifling Slovakia’s attempts to mount a comeback.

Despite a late push from Slovakia, which added a second goal, the U.S. held firm and closed out the game with a solid 4-2 victory. The team’s disciplined play and key contributions from standout players ensured their triumph in this hard-fought contest.
